I got a "Back up was failing with extended error status has been encountered, check logs (252)" error on my backups in Symantec. I am under Windows XP. How can I fix this?

Start the back up again and wait till you receive the error again in job details. Remove the drive and then configure it again. The error code in the job details that you will receive is NBU status: 830, EMM status: No drives are available

Drive(s) unavailable or down(830) and the back up will failed.

Also:

– Check on the status of the drive after making it up. Do the tpconfig -d

– Check the difference on the density of the drive and the STU. You can see some distinctions since the drive has reconfigured. Alter the storage unit density to correct it.

– Run the Robtest and make the drive free.

– This issue may be due to the media that has been stuck with the drive. Try to remove it through robtest and inventory robot.

– And then start the back up again. This should work now.
