I was very lucky to win an 18-month license for Avira Internet Security 2012. I have an installation guide which I followed religiously but it failed. I already have the required Avira version and the “Avira AntiVir Control Center”.
The guide says I must double-click the Avira icon (red umbrella) to open the control center. Then I had to check the “Help” section to access “License Management”. Under that is the “Activate Product” option where I can enter my activation key. This should have started the upgrade but it didn’t.
The error message points out a lack of internet connection. I’m 100% sure I have one and it works just fine. Someone please tell me what to do.

Avira Internet Security 2012 – Upgradation Problem
Hello Sleigh,
Usually the update of the Antivirus runs online and therefore you must have a strong and stable internet connection speed to allow Avira antivirus to download the updates and install them. The resolve that issue, you will need to check the following:
-
On the computer that you are using, in case you are on o LAN, check to make sure that the cables have plugged in correctly and they are working.
-
If you are using a wireless network, make sure that you have a strong wireless signal for strong internet. You may be connected to the internet but it could be weak, and therefore the updates cannot be downloaded.
Hope this helps.
Regards,
Carl
