There are two types of Avaya partner programming ACS –

1) System Programming: It allows for the customization of the system to meet growing needs of business. It makes use of factory settings to show options which are used most commonly. System settings can be changed as needed. This type of programming can be performed from extension 10 or 11. However, extension 11 should be used for programming because it cannot handle calls while in programming mode.

2) Telephone Programming: It allows customization of telephones to meet user’s needs. There are two types of telephone programming- Centralized which programs telephones from extension 10 or 11 and Extension which programs a telephone from the extension to which it is connected.

Programming starts after you successfully install the control unit. It is needed to program the basic settings of the system, assign lines, and extension customization.

Basic requirement: Centralized telephone programming requires system display telephone. Also, 34-button telephone should be used to program because 18-button telephone cannot program a 34-button telephone. If your phone comprises both PARTNER and MLS telephones, then at programming extension, PARTNER display telephone should be used.
