I recently purchased ASAP Utilities 4 add-in for Excel.  I have already installed it in Excel and when I launch the program, the PC slows down then crashes.  Is this a compatibility issue?  I have Microsoft Excel 2010 and Windows XP 64 bit.

Greetings Larry S Montelongo,

Well if you purchased it then you have can just contact their support forum on this website ASAP UTILITIES.

It seems that some earlier versions of Asap Utilities weren't compatible with Microsoft Excel 2010 64-bit version. So my best guess would be for you to check your version. If its the latest (currently 4.8.6.) then just contact their support. On the website I gave you have the form how to do it.

That would be my only solution.

I hope I helped you,

Regards.

If you are using 64-bit Microsoft Windows XP, you shouldn’t use Microsoft Office Excel 2010 or the entire Microsoft Office 2010 because this version of the Microsoft Office suite does not support 64-bit Microsoft Windows XP. If you were able to install Microsoft Office Excel 2010 on your computer, it may not function correctly. That’s probably why it slows down the performance of the machine.

Microsoft Office 2010, any of its editions, does not support 64-bit Windows XP and Windows Server 2003. If you want to install Microsoft Office 2010 or only Microsoft Office Excel 2010, you need 32-bit Windows XP Service Pack 3. ASAP Utilities is only an add-on for the Microsoft Office Excel application. The main problem is the application, Microsoft Office Excel 2010.

The following operating systems support only the 32-bit edition of Microsoft Office 2010:

  • Windows XP Service Pack 3
  • Windows Server 2003 Service Pack 2 with MSXML 6.0
  • Windows Server 2003 R2

The following operating systems support both 32-bit and 64-bit editions of Microsoft Office 2010:

  • Windows Vista Service Pack 1
  • Windows 7
  • Windows 8
  • Windows Server 2008
  • Windows Server 2008 Service Pack 2
  • Windows Server 2008 R2
  • Windows Server 2008 R2 Service Pack 1
  • Windows Server 2012
  • Terminal Server
