Hi there,

Today when I wanted to open Inkscape on my Windows 7 (X32) this unexpected error message appeared for the firs time. It worked fine for 2-3 days, but now I have it again. Sometimes is working fine and sometimes I have this error. Please help me to solve this and tell me why I have this error ? Why, sometimes is working and sometimes it don’t ?

Thanks !

This type of error is often caused by an "Access Violation" or trying to access a non-existing file. However the "Access Violation" trigger could have many origins. Some of the most common reason for this error are "poor maintenance of the computer", "Corrupt registry files", "A Faulty RAM" and a virus. For more detailed information about this problem, try this site.

For Corrupt Registry files:

If you are not that much of an expert, you cannot edit the registry files directly (Poor editing may lead to substantial damage in the worst case). Then, you could download, install and/or use software or tools to fix your registry files.

For poor maintenance:

You could take your computer to the nearest computer store to stores for checkup. This also could determine if you have a faulty RAM.

If you don't want to spend time for that, you could download memtest86 and burn it to a CD. Then boot from it and scan your computer's memory. It is a RAM tester to check if your computer can reliably store and retrieve data from memory.
