Hello,

Today, I was installing eCAuditTool application setup but an error occurred during the installation. The error is showing “Setup cannot continue until all system components have been successfully installed”. I think one of the components could not install for this application and installation stopped with this weird message. I extremely need an expert’s advice.

Thanks in advance.

An error occurred while installing system components for eCAuditTool.exe. application. Setup cannot continue until all system components have been successfully installed.

Component.NET framework 3.5 has failed to install with the following error message. Fatal error during installation

The following components failed to install:

.NET framework 3.5

See the setup log file located at

I suggest you to remove the previous versions of .Net installed on your computer, then attempt to reinstall .Net 3.5 downloading from the Microsoft website, once you reinstall the framework the installation of eC-AuditTool should run in a proper way because it is under a clean installation of .Net 3.5

I guess when you installed eCAuditTool you didn’t check if Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 is already installed on your computer. If your installer already comes with Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 then this is not a problem because it will be automatically installed during the setup. But since the setup failed, you need to install the failed component manually and then start the installation again.

To fix the problem, download and install Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5. Once it is installed, install eCAuditTool again and it should work this time. In case eCAuditTool doesn’t work after the installation even if Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 is already installed, check if you have other Microsoft .NET Frameworks installed. You can check them in the Add or Remove Programs applet in the Control Panel.

If other versions are present but lower versions, uninstall all Microsoft .NET Frameworks that exists on your computer and then install Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 back.
