A pleasant day to everyone at TechyV!

Whenever I tried opening Safari it suddenly quits and this message appears. I've erased preferences and plug-in folders but it still won't work. Can anyone help me with this error message? Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge.

The application Safari quit unexpectedly. The problem may have been caused by the AdobeSelfHealing plug-is.

Mac OS X and other application are not affected.

Click Relaunch to launch the application again. Click Report to see more details or send a report to Apple.

Hello Dianne,

Well did you try uninstalling Safari and reinstalling the older version? Did you try installing the latest version of flash player? I would suggest you to install the latest version of Flash player and also check if you have any corrupted software or application in your system then just remove it. Also run the Apple hardware test and see if anything comes out. If this doesn't help its time to contact Apple and see what they can do for you.

Good Luck,

Thanks!!

Hi Dianne,

If you recently installed updates that included a safari update, then your safari browser might have incorporated updates which might be incompatible with your current operating system. So I will suggest that you uninstall it and reinstall the version you were using before you started experiencing the problems. If you have turned 'check for updates' feature to automatic, I will advise that you change it so that before updates  are made, you are notified so that so can choose which ones to install and which ones not to install.

Sometimes updates pose problems, though it is good to keep all your applications up to date, but it is better to update those programs that you see not fit for use as they are and you need to see more performance from them.

Regards,

Lee Hung.

If you have this problem with Safari and the error message indicates a possible issue with a particular plug-in, try disabling all plug-ins on the browser. This verifies if the problem is originating from one of the plug-ins installed on the browser. Start Safari then go to menu and select “Preferences”. Next, go to “Security” tab then locate “Internet plug-ins”.

Uncheck “Allow Plug-ins”. This disables every plug-in installed on the browser. Exit the menu then restart Safari. If the problem disappears then the issue is with one of the plug-ins. Go back to “Preferences” and enable every plug-in one at a time. Restart the browser every time a plug-in is enabled. Now, if the problem came back after enabling the Adobe plug-in, uninstall this plug-in from the browser.

If you need to use this plug-in, use or install another browser like Google Chrome.
