 Hello Bryan Edward,

There could be a lot of reason why your opera browser is running slow. If it is generally slow surfing, it could be cause by disorganized cache settings. You can optimize the web browsers performance by deleting the disk cache because it accumulates and cause the slowing down of the software. In order to do so please press Ctrl+F12 at the same time and select Advanced and then History. You can also disable plug-ins. Just press Ctrl+F12 again at the same time, go to Advanced and then Content. If you are still having the same problem after performing the measures mentioned above you can do a clean install of the program. It means that you need to completely uninstall opera browser on your computer by accessing the control panel. After removing it on the computer, try reinstalling it.

I hope this helps.

If you also love using the Opera browser like me, unfortunately, there is a bad news. The latest version of the Opera browser is no longer supporting Windows XP and Windows Vista. To install the latest, you need to have Windows 7, Windows 8.x, or Windows 10. Since your Opera browser is becoming slow, try clearing your browser’s cache.

Press CTRL + SHIFT + DELETE to bring up the “Clear browsing data” dialog. In “Obliterate the following items from”, select “the beginning of time” and then check the appropriate boxes you prefer. Click “Clear browsing data”. If you have any active logins on the browser, don’t check “Cookies and other site data”.

Opera clear browser cache

Checking this box will log out all accounts that are currently logged in and empty the cookies. See if this improves the performance of the browser. If it doesn’t, try upgrading to the latest version. If you are using Windows 7 or later, go to Opera Browser for Windows PC to download the latest. But if you are still using Windows XP or Windows Vista, go to Opera for XP and Vista to download.

Opera 36.0.2130.80 is the last version to support Windows XP and Windows Vista.
