Application Error: Unable to Start Google Chrome

I keep receiving "Error: Application unable to start correctly. Error code 0xc00000a5." When trying to access Google Chrome on my Windows 7 computer. It was working before. I have searched in Google about the error and found that a lot of people have the same issue. When trying to uninstall and reinstall the program, it did not help at all. How can I resolve it?

Hi Francine!

There's two ways to get rid of that error.

First is to simply try to System Restore your system to its earliest point. If that doesn't work, try to check the properties of your Google chrome. Right-click Google chrome then click Properties and then choose Compatibility tab. Check the box 'Run this program in compatibility mode for:' then choose whatever Operating System you are currently using now.

If all else fails, try to install the latest version of Google Chrome from their site. Try to uninstall and install again.

Hello Francine,

I guess your Google chrome is corrupted. It happens at times. There are certain bugs in this program that make the browser to crash at times. But do not worry, as I have faced this problem myself so I would suggest you to uninstall the program completely. 

After doing this you should check in the windows folder whether there are no such folders containing chrome. This is important because there are some files which chrome reuses before it reinstalls again and causes the same problem again and again.

So I would suggest you to you to completely uninstall it from your machine so error occurs again when you install it again. Now when you have uninstalled Google chrome, download the new and fresh version of Google Chrome from Google and then install it once again. This will help you for sure and your problem would be solved. Hope this helps.

I did this one. And absolutely it's worked! Thanks Hathy! My Chrome is in its good mood now. I will update also the latest version. Thanks for all your help.
