Hi,

There is a little confusion at my part with my computer running under Microsoft Home.

Whenever I exit my internet explorer this error message will pop up that suggest memory cannot be read.

I have a screen shot of that error below.

I ignored it first, but later almost all application I closed it will pop up, but on a different address.

Iexplore.exe – Application Error

The instruction at "0x1001677e" referenced memory at "0x043a8f64", the memory could not be "read".

Click on OK to terminate the program

What I did is to restart the computer that I guess it might just be some memory dump failure, but the problem still persist. I tried cleaning all my RAM in hope it might be some dust, but still same problem. I also think of reformatting my computer, but I am also looking for some easy ways that of reformatting.

If somebody can share there Ideas on there experience with this issue,

Please do share some.

Hello Gregorywelts,

Do not be worried. Your problem is not that big a deal. It is simply a matter of Internet Explorer settings. Your browser is simply sensitive to memory protection to ensure safety. You can just change your setting by following these four easy steps:

  • First Step: At the top right part of your Internet Explorer, you can find the word "Tools" with an arrow pointing down on its right. Click this button to show your tools options.
  • Second Step: Usually at bottom of these options you will find "Internet Options". Click that option.
  • Third Step: A small window will appear with tab options such as General, Security, Privacy, Content, Connections, Programs, and Advanced. Click on Advanced to open tab.
  • Fourth Step: A list of check boxes will appear. These are separated into groups. Scroll down through the list and find the group of check boxes labeled "Security". Under this list, uncheck the box saying "Enable memory protection to help mitigate online attacks".
  • Fifth Step: Click “Apply” at the bottom part of the window. Your problem will be gone the next time you open Internet Explorer.

I hope this information helped you.

Hi Gregorywelt,

This may help to your problem.

These errors occur when there are too many files that are saved by your internet browser. Try cleaning up the history and cookies of your internet browser by opening the internet browser and search for the tools and search for the clear history.

Then check all boxes and click ok.
