Apple Snow leopard Applications Software?

My Macbook pro 13 inch applications are gone and when I try to reinstall it, they still are not there.

The laptop keeps on freezing and going to a black screen.

I tried to contact Apple online, but they didn't help.  So do I need to go to the Apple store to fix it?

How do I fix it?

Any computer system that freezes or reboots by itself is caused either by a virus or a possible hardware issue. Do you see any error message whenever you restart your Macbook after it freezes or goes to a black screen? Are you still able to boot up, even just for a few minutes? It would help us diagnose what’s causing the problem if you see any error messages and post them here.

For now though, what you can do is press and hold “d” and check if it provides you any information. Run the disk repair that comes with the startup disc, this should give you information on the status of the Hard Disk Drive.
