With respect to improving security for mobile devices, original equipment owners are now moving the security measures to their operating systems. Apple is one OEM which has adopted this approach. Is this a sound rationale to improve safety of usage for these devices? What could be the possible drawback of such a move?

Hello Jimmy!

Adding security features in our portable or any handheld devices is rational. Setting or adding new security features will give us more comfortable feeling that we are always doing the right thing in accessing any processes or even accessing websites. There’s no problem in adding security. The only problem is that how these manufacturers will provide proper guidance for users. The biggest drawback that it can cause will be difficulties in accessing software or any portals that can give users frustrations. It is very difficult to remember different password or keys. Adding more feature will make users feel like that the platform is not user-friendly anymore. Time consuming off course. These two (2) drawbacks will give user right away dissatisfaction.
