I recently bought a 46" Sony KDL-46HX853 Fuul HD (1080p) SmartTV.  Is there a way to decrypt HD channels in comcast?  Can I also view the HD channels on my PC with AMD Radeon ROG ARES II dual HD 7970 6GB GDDR5?  Any suggestions on how to comcast decryption HD?

It is possible to decrypt HD TV channels, but you have to rent a box from Comcast cable. Do you have your TV cable card slot?

It is another box that you can purchase, such as the QAM tuner box. With this box, you can decrypt HD TV.

For your PC, I think you have to buy a TV tuner.

There is a USB Tuner.

Hauppauge 1120CN WinTV-HVR-950 Hybrid Video Recorder

It can record your Schedule TV Program, low power needed, watch TV and more.

Hi Johnnie!

If you are a Comcast subscriber and just recently bought an HD Smart TV, you can only get over the air HD channels which are most likely just the basic or local channels in your area if you don’t have any kind of box hooked up to your TV. You need to call Comcast to check and make sure your service includes HD service, if HD is part of your service, then you can rent either an HD uDTA (not yet available in all markets) or an HD box to get HD channels. The HD channels that you will be getting depends on the type of package that you have signed up for. You can pick up a box from the nearest service center, it can be sent to your house thru UPS, or a Comcast technician can either install it for you but there will be a one time charge or he can just drop it off to your house and you can install it yourself (Self Install Kit). Then you need to make sure that the box will be hooked up to your TV using either an HDMI cord or component. By default, Comcast HD boxes are already set to 1080i but there are cases that the boxes are only set to 480i or 720p and if that happens, you can call their 24/7 customer service at 1-800-Comcast for help.

If you are an Xfinity TV subscriber, then you have access to online TV shows through the different partner sites of Comcast. Not all of them are in HD though since HD broadcasting really depends on the TV networks.
