The 2012 video game The Amazing Spider-Man is an action-adventure video game based on the 2012 film and on the Marvel Comics character Spider-Man. The game was published by Activision and developed by Beenox. It was released on June 26, 2012 in North America and in Europe on June 29, 2012. The game The Amazing Spider-Man is available on Android, iOS, Microsoft Windows, Nintendo DS, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360.

On March 5, 2013, a version for the Wii U was released in North America and in Europe on March 8, 2013 titled The Amazing Spider-Man: Ultimate Edition. In November 2013, a PlayStation Vita was released. The game was written by Seamus Kevin Fahey, Gérard Lehiany, and Benjamin Schirtz and directed by Gerard Lehiany. The game serves as a different epilogue to the film The Amazing Spider-Man.

The Wii and Nintendo 3DS version feature a dissimilar, more linear game that has the same plot and script. The HD version of the game has a free-roaming/open world concept. The combat system is reminiscent of the Batman game series developed by Rocksteady Studios that applies a freeflow design and counterattacks.

The Wii and Nintendo 3DS version does not employ an open world concept but rather follow a style of approach comparable to that of Star Wars: The Force Unleashed wherein the player selects a level from a hub, in this case Stan’s apartment, before playing a typically linear level.
