Adobe Reader Updater (Update Failure)

Today when I opened my Adobe Reader and received notification saying that an update was available. I clicked the install button but when clicked it said this:

Adobe Reader Updater

Update Failed

Cannot install the update. Please run the Adobe Reader Repair

Error: 1500

Close

I searched the internet for ways to fix this problem and found nothing. I tried re-installing the software and when I clicked it again the same thing comes out. Any ideas on how to fix this?

Adobe Reader Updater (Update Failure)

There are many reasons due to which your Adobe Reader can't be updated. One reason for your Adobe update failure is that the update server which provide updates to your system could not establish a connection. You have to check the connection setting for system weather you are using some proxy or not. The second option for your adobe update is that your reader has corrupted some of the files which is necessary for the update and when you click on the update option it get those files corrupted and hence your update failed.

You should check these two options as well as you have searched on many sites.
