Hi experts,

When I tried to install Adobe Photoshop CS3 in my Mac OS the system error messages appeared like an attack. The following error message shows “You are not connected to the Internet”. This error displayed when I called for the online help. I checked connection and working properly. The same error appeared with the Adobe illustrator. How can I remove this annoying error? Help would be really appreciated.

Thanks.

Photoshop Online Help could not be displayed because you are not connected to the Internet.

To access online help or to download help contents, you need to be connected to the internet.

Rollback changes made by the Adobe installation by canceling the setup.

Then, look for this file in your directory

/[user name]/Library/Preferences/chc.4875E02D9FB21EE389F73B8D1702B320485DF8CE.1

To easily perform search, open Terminal app then enter this line of code:

chflags nohidden ~/Library/

Then execute.

Delete all PDF and help files in this directory:

UsersSharedDocumentsAdobe

Restart installer and run as administrator

This error appears because the "Offline Help" feature in Adobe products is implemented incorrectly. As you've noticed yourself, you can access Internet without any problems. The official Adobe website states that this is a: "Incorrect and outdated error message".

If you need to peruse Adobe help, access the relevant material via your browser directly, instead of through the Adobe products.

You should first try to enable the help content offline. After you have installed Adobe Community Help Client (CHC) here: http://www.adobe.com/support/chc/chc-5i/en_US/AdobeHelp.air,

you should go to start > programs > adobe help and then to open the CHC and the preferences dialog box there.
You choose Adobe Reader X in the download preferences pane, and you choose To use Adobe Reader X under Download/Update in the Local Contents Pane.
The CHC will first update the helpcfg files after its installation.
Now close and restart the CHC client to get the Acrobat/Reader X Help downloading option to work.

Hello,

Internet connection is the main cause behind this issue. So, check your internet connection and be sure that it is accessible.

Here is one solution.

1. Start Command Prompt. If you’re on Windows Vista / 7, run Command Prompt as administrator.

2. Run the following commands:

ipconfig /release

ipconfig /renew

See if your problem has gone now.

If that doesn’t solve the issue,

1. Right-click on Adobe Illustrator and select “Run as administrator”.

Now try to access help desk.

If no luck,

1. Possibly your firewall is making the issue. Different firewall programs has got different techniques to be disabled. So make sure that your firewall is allowing your Adobe Illustrator to access internet.

If that doesn’t work, do a uninstall / install task.

Your problem should have solved now.
