Hello,

I get this error message when printing form Adobe InDesign saying “The document may contain binary EPS files, which can cause the print job to fail. If the printer produces output, then the binary data did not interfere with printing.

Do you want to print this document”?

Guide me with a solution.

Thanks.

Hi Rosemary!

Have you tried clicking OK?

If you click OK and the document prints in a normal way, there's no need to worry. But if you click OK and the printer returns a lot of pages of what seems to be binary data, it means that the modules in your program interpret certain characters and their combinations in binary as commands, and so the printer writes only the binary data. In this case, try other options.

You can change your printer's settings so that it can print binary protocols too. This depends on every printer's menu so you should refer to the printer documentation.

Change the format of your document. Only the EPS can be affected by this problem, so if you transform your document in a PDF, PSD or TIFF file, you could print it without worries.

If your InDesign program doesn't allow you to print a document, try fooling it by opening the EPS in Photoshop, and saving it under a different name or replacing it with the same name. Then you should be able to print it.

Good luck!
