I am getting an error message when trying to view a PDF document over the Internet.

The error says

The Adobe Acrobat/Reader that is running cannot be used to view PDF files in a web browser.

Adobe Acrobat/Reader version 8 or 9 is required.

Please exit and try again.

Adobe Acrobat Reader Error When Trying To View PDF In Web Browser

Hello,
I think you are having a simple issue with you adobe reader. The issue is version compatibility with your browser. You did not mention the browser or the browser version you use. But I can guess that you are using some new version of Mozilla Fire Fox or Google Chrome.
New versions of the browsers are not supported to the old versions of the adobe reader or the adobe acrobat reader. According to this error message I guess you have a version of adobe reader below the version 8. May be the 7 or 6.
So you have to install a new version of adobe reader or update the existing version of the adobe reader.
