Here are the steps for installing ADB Driver on your phone. First you have to set up your phone in USB Debugging Mode; proceed to Setting next to Application and Development, you have to activate USB Debugging and then select OK to permit USB Debugging Mode. After setting up the USB Debugging Mode, you can now connect it to your PC. Once you connected it to your PC Windows will now detect the new connected hardware and you have to select the Ask me later option as we do not want Windows to start searching drivers. Secondly we are going to Open the Device Manager. Go to My Computer then Properties then proceed to Other Devices choose the USB connected and then Update Driver Software. Thirdly click Browse My Computer for Driver Software then select the Driver Software Location; click browse and look for the Admin then drive C then program Files at Program files there is Multi Unlock Client folder. Enter in that folder and look for X10 drivers and then OK. Click the small box for Include subfolders and then next, you can now see that it’s Installing Driver Software. Then lastly you will be notified that Windows has successfully updated your driver software. Â
Unless you want to debug application don't check USB debugging.
The problem you are facing can be solved in two ways:
If you are trying to install Xperia Companion on your computer so you can connect your Sony Xperia Smartphone to your PC, check again if your computer is compatible with the program. The Sony Xperia Companion for Windows supports Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows 8.1, and Windows 10. Microsoft Windows Vista and earlier are not supported. The hardware requirements are pretty average.
The application requires at least Intel Pentium 4 or equivalent AMD processor, 2 GB RAM, 5 GB free hard drive space, USB 2.0 or USB 3.0 port, and a working USB cable not to forget a broadband internet connection. If you are using an older version of the Xperia Companion, go to Xperia Companion for Windows to download the latest. See if this fixes the problem.
If you verify that your computer is fully compatible with the software but it still doesn’t work, check your USB cable. Try using a different USB cable on your Smartphone then try again. There’s no reason for the program not to work because it doesn’t have other dependencies or prerequisite software.
If the ADB drivers don’t seem to respond when connecting your phone, it is more likely that your USB cable is faulty. Try replacing your USB cable with a new one or use a different cable that you are sure is working.
