Acer Aspire V3-771G laptop Keyboard Issue

Hello,

I have been using my Acer Laptop for 1 year now but my keyboard is behaving weird. There is one key that has a problem and that is “Q”. Whenever I open an editor such as Ms Word, letter Q automatically types itself non-stop. What should I do? Can I replace only one key on the keyboard if I take it to a repair shop? Please advice?

The first thing that you need to do is check to see if "Q" also presses on its own when you open a different application, such as a game or an online chat session. If it does the same thing, then it is definitely a hardware problem. For the keyboard, you can actually change the carbon tip underneath the key by removing the key itself from the keyboard. If the key is difficult to remove, then you can visit a computer technician, or a shop, and ask them if they can have it replaced.

As for the carbon tip, you can buy one at a local DIY shop.
