Hi Nomiuch,

The easiest way to extend the life of your battery is simply to take good care of it. When using your laptop ensure that you not place it on soft surfaces like blankets and pillows as they can heat up and block the cooling fans. Ensure that your computer is not exposed to dust by cleaning your desk regularly and dusting your computer of any dust that may enter inside it. Dust can enter into the computer's veins which will clog the cooling fan. When you connect your laptop to an AC power supply, consider removing the battery to prevent it from overheating. Also clean the battery contacts by using rubbing alcohol, and store your laptop at temperatures that do not exceed 80 degrees Fahrenheit (Do not store it at very cold temperatures also).

Other methods to extend your battery's life is by minimizing the number of processes that run in the background and upgrading the memory of your computer so that it does not use a lot of power when executing the processes.

Lee Hung.
