Hi,

I cannot send emails.

All outgoing emails that i send return with an undeliverable error. I can receive emails ,but i cannot reply to them nor forward them.

New emails that i send are not being delivered also.

As soon as i send an email, i get an error. The error is as follows:

Undeliverable – 503 Valid RCPT command must precede data.  When i send emails using another account they are being delivered but when i send emails from one specific account that is configured in Outlook i get this error. Others on the same network using the same domain do not have this problem. I am the only one.

Error message is below. Please do not mind. I blocked the email address and domain for privacy reasons.

Undeliverable: test

You have to reconfigure your email account in Microsoft Office Outlook by following these steps:

1. Select "Account Settings" under "Tools" from the main Outlook window. Choose "New" in the "Email" tab. Make sure to select the radio button labeled "Microsoft Exchange, POP3, IMAP, or HTTP" before clicking "Next."

2. Fill in the required fields. Email address should include the "@" sign and extension.

3. Check if the email account settings you entered can be automatically detected by clicking the "Next" button. If Outlook cannot do so, check "Manually Configure Server Settings or Additional Server Types" before clicking "Next".

4. If you are using a web-based address, select "Internet Email". Choose "Exchange Server" if you are using such. Click "Next".

5. Fill-in the required fields again. User name refers to your email address excluding the "@" sign and extension. Server information must be provided by your Internet Service Provider; the people you pay to have internet connection. You can then click "Next" and finish the configuration.

If your username and password is frequently asked, click "Start" and then choose "Run". Type "msconfig" in the space provided to open a window. Click the "disable all button" option and then restart your computer.

Oh this is a problem with lots of solution:

  • If your email / account name or the user you are sending mail's account name / email has Apostrophe then please remove them, they are known to cause these sorts of issues.
  • If you are connected to VPN while sending, try without VPN, it might work.
  • Check that your mails are not left on server by 'Tools > Account Setting > More settings > Advanced > uncheck "leave a copy of this message on the server'
  • Configure SMTP port outgoing to 26 instead of 25.
  • Check the mail addressed if all of them are as they are suppose to be as you entered in form
  • Repair outlook PST file
  • If you have some utility running that is checking mail, like Mail Washer', while you try to send mail, this might happen, so I would suggest to stop it while sending mail, or configure it to checked manually

This also pops up if the default spam utility for Outlook is misbehaving, for this check with 'Start > Start/Search > outlook.exe /safe' and see if there pops up some issue.
