Asked By 5 points N/A Posted on -

Recently I added a new email account to Outlook and after I did all the for the new account this window appear and I am stuck with it because I don’t know what happened. I clicked Deny button because I am afraid that something will happen to my current account if I click Allow. I need someone to tell me what this means? If is bad or not and please help me to set up a new email account in Outlook.

Kind Regards!

Outlook was redirected to the server to get new settings for your account

rm [email protected] Do you want to allow this server to configure your settings? autodiscover.xml

Click Allow only if you fully trust the source, or if your Exchange administrator instructs you to.

This problem is for occurring maybe the Autodiscover CNAME record is not existing for your email domain.

To narrow down this problem, follow the steps”

1. Be sure that the Autodiscover CNAME record exists for your email domain. To be sure follow the article use a CNAME Record to Enable Outlook to Connect & check the Autodiscover connectivity is working perfectly at

2. Delete the existing account and create a new one.

  • Close Outlook.
  • Remove the folder “~/Documents/Microsoft User Data/Office 2011 Identities/Main Identity”.
  • Start Outlook. From Outlook >> Preferences >> Accounts, you’ll be able to configure the account.

This is just a warning message that Outlook will show to configure settings according to their server. If you press “Deny”, everything will go on normally. There’ll be no problem with sending and receiving mails.
