Hi,

If this is the error you are receiving is the first time you run outlook express, then there could only be two main reasons:

1. Your ISP is blocking a particular SMTP port 25, to control the unsolicited / bulk mails sent . In such a case you have to contact your ISP

2. The account configured by you has POP3 as outgoing mail, instead of SMTP. Please check by opening outlook express, file / accounts- outgoing mail. If it is POPs change it to SMTP

3. Your DNS server is not working properly. Make sure, the DNS server information is configured properly in your network connection information

4. A possibility is that the Firewall may be blocking the SMTP connection. Allow the Firewall rule to accept the Outbound SMTP server

5. Your Internet connection may be lost, or is breaking

6. The last reason could be that the SMTP server may be down, you can check with your colleagues or ISP

To resolve that problem, you will need to do the following:

  • You will need to check your Outlook Express settings.
  • Make sure thatĀ the POP3 and SMTP servers are configured well.
  • Also check that your full user name and password are correct.

Note that for the SMTP, the problem may arise when you misspell it by something like STMP. And you may also have written the addresses with commas rather than using full points. So check out for issues like those and fix them.

Once you have done that, you can then try to connecting the outlook express again.

Hi

This error code is triggered by incoming and outbound email protection. It doesn't mean that the security software is failing but it try to block email messages going in and out because of too many email messages need to be downloaded.Ā To know more go this Techyv link :Ā Outlook express "0x800ccc0e" error & connection issue

If Outlook Express says it cannot connect to the server, it means the problem might be with your internet connection. Check that your internet connection is working. Open your web browser and visit a website then try clicking some links. If the problem is with your connection, restart your router.

If your Wi-Fi router has a power button, press it to turn it off then unplug it from the power for about ten to twenty seconds (10 ā€“ 20). Press any button on the router to drain any leftover power or to power cycle. After this, plug the router back to the power and turn it on.

Also, before you can use Microsoft Office Outlook and Outlook Express as email client to send and receive email messages, you need to have either the IMAP or POP settings of your email account. You can get it from your mail service provider. For Yahoo Mail accounts, here are the correct IMAP and POP server settings.

For IMAP server settings, make sure you have the following configurations entered in Microsoft Office Outlook or Outlook Express.

  • Incoming server IMAP:
    • Server ā€“ imap.mail.yahoo.com
    • Port ā€“ 993
    • Requires SSL ā€“ Yes
  • Outgoing server SMTP:
    • Server ā€“ smtp.mail.yahoo.com
    • Port ā€“ 465 or 587
    • Requires SSL ā€“ Yes
    • Requires authentication ā€“ Yes

For POP server settings, make sure you have the following configurations entered in Microsoft Office Outlook or Outlook Express.

  • Incoming server POP:
    • Server ā€“ pop.mail.yahoo.com
    • Port ā€“ 995
    • Requires SSL ā€“ Yes
  • Outgoing server SMTP:
    • Server ā€“ smtp.mail.yahoo.com
    • Port ā€“ 465 or 587
    • Requires SSL ā€“ Yes
    • Requires TLS ā€“ Yes (if available)
    • Requires authentication ā€“ Yes

IMAP is the ideal way of getting your email messages using an email client. It allows 2-way synchronization. This means everything you do remotely is reflected in your Yahoo Mail account. With POP, it simply downloads copies of your email messages. You can delete or move them in the email client without affecting the original email messages in your email account.
