I am in my first year of college and realize how badly I need a tablet for taking notes. Is a Windows tablet the best choice for stability so I do not lose my notes? I really want to take notes on a stylus with a large screen. Thanks for the suggestions.

My laptop’s dvd drive is no longer operational. Yesterday, I accidentally deleted a system file and I cannot seem to fix it with windows recovery. I got myself a backup of my windows version and heard that a USB stick can be used to reinstall windows. Can anyone walk me through that process?

What are registries? I have recently installed CCleaner programme to cleanly wipe my recycle bin from time to time. There is an option in the program that helps detect registry entries and help me to delete them. I am always asked to back up the registries. Can anyone tell me why? 

With the decision of Microsoft to ditch Internet explorer for the Spartan Browser, is there any information on the looks of the browser? If so, how does it look like? I also believe new functionalities must have been added and I would wish to know about any of the new features it might have.

My computer is connected to both WiFi and Ethernet. I want to reserve the WiFi network to handle traffic from my chrome browser only. Since the Ethernet has high speeds, I want it to handle the rest of the traffic. How can I fix this issue on the windows 10 operating system?

Please note there is no question category for Windows 8 so I selected Windows 7.  I have a new laptop and I saved a file on it.  Now I cannot locate it.  I did a search but the file is still not found, and I am positive I remember the name of the file.  I used to do this on my Windows 7 laptop but it always returned results.  Is there another function I could be using to find the file?

I have just installed windows 7 home edition. The OS was working fine until today when I am constantly being urged to activate the software through and international call. Given that I am quite far from the USA is there another way through which I can activate the windows and is that really necessary?

Windows 8.1 has problems with its sleep mode. I usually put my laptop on sleep mode and it works fine for me. But after upgrading my Windows from 8 to 8.1 whenever I put my laptop on sleep, it doesn't come back to its original state and I have to restart my computer. I checked for all the updates and thought this might be due to some uninstalled updates, but that wasn't the case and the problem still occurs. Any solution?

Hello! Just read a few articles related to Windows 10. Looks like an interesting prospect, I have heard that it will be free for Windows 8 users, is this true? An other interesting prospect is the introduction of Microsoft HoloLens which will be supported by Windows 10. I don't know much about the HoloLens though. What else are we expecting in WIndows 10?
