I am getting this error when I am trying to run the Windows 7 Upgrade CD:

"This installation disc isn't compatible with your version of windows. To upgrade, you need the correct installation disc. For more information, check your computer's system information. I am currently on windows 7 and my varsity project is heavily dependent on the Direct3d of nvidia.

Recently I have been having troubles downloading from the nvidia main site and as a result I cannot download the sdk (I had to format my PC after a virus attack). Can anyone of you please provide an alternative for direct3d for nvidia free download .

I just got a gift from my friend which is the new Win 8 OS! The thing is, it is the normal Win 8 OS instead of the Win 8 Pro.

I know from my experience that Pro Edition is better in the case like Win XP Pro.

But since this Win 8 OS is a whole new thing, I wonder if it is necessary and worth it to upgrade to Win 8 Pro?
