Storage

Recently I ran the Disk Defragment on my computer.  At the end of the process, I received a message that not all of the fragmented files could be moved.  What does this mean?  Is there any other way to fix these files?

Also, how often should I run the disk defragment?

I have been using a 4 GB Macro SD card in my cell phone, where I can store about 3.5 GB data. From where I am able to use about 120 MB space of video and audio files. I came to know that there are two types of Macro SD.

One is upgraded macro SD (Which normally upgrades from lower capacity of memory chips). Another one is Real capacity Macro SD (it makes from same size or capacity of memory chips).

Could you tell me what is the best way to identify the Real capacity and upgraded Macro SD.

My Acer laptop doesn’t work anymore, it doesn’t boot up. Tech people said my hard drive was fried?

What does it mean?

Can I still retrieve my data and other important files in it?

Or it dead as in dead?

Thank you for your time.

I finished my paper last night and saved it in my USB flash drive so that I could bring it to school.

Upon opening my document, it came to me as a surprise that my work could not be opened and shows a selection of encoding of some sort.

How do I recover my work?

I'm a workaholic person. I only spend less time with my kids. Yesterday, I was amazed with my youngest daughter, she asked me a question which I am familiar with but I don't know their differences. She wanted to know what's the difference between external and internal hard drives aside from the word itself.

I'm using a SanDisk microSD 4GB in my Nokia E71. Long time ago I put a password in my SD card for some security reason but I’ve forgot the password because I didn’t use it after then. But now when I tried to use this card in another phone or in my computer its not allowing to access and says this card is not accessible.  Even I can’t format this card. I'm not worried about my data.

Is there any idea to remove this password?

Me and my friends love watching movies. We always watched movies on my computer. But, when our hard disk ran out of space I considered buying a new hard drive, just to store all my movies and maybe if possible watch them on my television. The only concern is, would purchasing an external hard drive enable me to watch the movies I store on TV?
