Hi,
My name is M.Smith and I am a student. I am a bit confused and mixing the concepts. The question is, is it possible that a certain given time windows automatically shuts down and startups automatically at a give time. if yes then how?
Also tell me that why does the critical section problem or synchronization problem do not occurs in threads as they also shared the memory of one process. And if yes then what do we do to avoid this.
Waiting for the answers. Thanking all.

Hi all,
The problem I am facing is that, I am unable to install any OS in my PC. I am struggling since long to install, but whenever I try to install OS, the files get copied to Hard Disk and when the message “Setup is restarting computer appears” PC gets hanged. Very rarely the system restarts and even the setup starts, but get hanged somewhere in the middle. Only once I was able to install it completely, but it too gets corrupted quite soon.
Now I am clueless, where the problem is, as I have taken my system to experts, but one said its RAM problem and the other one saying it’s hard that is corrupted. I am using XP and my system is about 3-4 years old. Does this matter?

Can u also tell me that Where we will have to place wait () and signal () operations in the code? And why we place them there?
It’s a great request to support me in my studies and give me answer of this question as soon as possible.

Hi,
My name is M.Smith and doing job in I.T department. But I am a bit confused and mixing the concepts that I had read in the handouts. To run compiled program, a. out command is used, but if there are multiple programs, then all of them will be stored in a.out file? And how can we run a particular program out of them?
And also tell me that what is the difference between SURE KILL and KILL command?
If anybody understand my question than please solve my problem.
Thanks.

Hi,
I am a bit confused and mixing the concepts of Critical section, process synchronization & concurrent cooperating processes as these 3 terms are used interchangeably.
I know that there is some difference in between, but I think the implementation solution is the same.
That’s why I am mixing the concept, kindly clear this ambiguity.
I am waiting for the answer of above mention question.
Thanking you.

Hi,
It’s strange that I am unable to see any kind of CD drive anywhere in my PC. Not this, even when I insert any CD or DVD, nothing happens and even I can’t find them manually. A few days before, everything was fine and same PC was reading my entire driver as well as installation disks. I am using Vista and it is a brand new system which I bought about two weeks before.
Please help.
Thank you!

Hello All,
My sister sent me a laptop as a gift, and I thought I could really go away with this computer issues thing since I am using a new one.
Unfortunately, yeah, I did get away with the virus thing, but my extra work needs an application to be installed. To my surprise, it is giving me feature transfer error at the middle of the installation.
Please help.
