Networking

Both my Laptop and desktop are using the same ISP and modem/router. The laptop connects to the server without problems. However, the desktop has failed to connect. Running a ping and tracert showed there was a serious lag in the desktop connection. The tracert was done at the same time for both machines and the laptop connected but the desktop connection was timed out.

The desktop is new and only has Windows 7 64-bit, hardware drivers and a third party software which I am trying to connect with. I addition, It is using a realtek ethernet controllerand Asus M5A87 motherboard. The desktop connects with other servers, the internet and third party website. I uninstalled the network drivers and then reinstalled them as an attempt to deal with the problem.

The question I have is strange. I however request your understanding since the area of network security is new to me. Supposing an administrator modified a port number of an FTP port by say, changing 21 to 23, which is the number of Telnet; finishing the modification would create a pair of No. 23 ports. Would this outcome on an FTP port interfere with data traffic? Your helpful advice/opinion is highly welcome.

Our company needs to enable our external user to access our company’s calendar. This we intend to do by creation of an Internet Calendaring and scheduling (ICS) on our company’s public folder. Majority of these outside users shall be accessing the schedule using Outlook, iPad or iPhone. For our employees, they access the schedule by the public folder which is available on the company’s Exchange Server.

How do you code an HTML email campaign? From what I've searched in Google in all kinds of websites, they give a number of "what works and what does not" charts. When I click on a URL in an e-mail, the website opens in Lotus Notes (in what is basically a new email window). What I would like to happen is for the link to open in a web browser, like Internet Explorer.
