There is this strange problem being experienced by a number of Notes users that I have been unable to get the root cause. These users run into a situation whereby their Lotus notes clients suddenly begin to hang during the process of opening. This frequently occurs when they access some invites or response items. For now restarting the computer is the only solution to this problem.

I also tried reconfiguring the template in the mail file however it produced both positive and negative effects. I am however looking for a way to fix this problem once and for all. I am wondering if this is connected to usernames in the invitee fields or the appending of the domain to each use. As you can notice I am confused and would like your help on this issue.

We have everything set up for us to migrate to W2003 from the current W2000 that we are using. We would however like to have a totally different user ID system that is easy to maintain, allows duplicates and does not have any connection to users’ name unlike the one that we are running which is tied to the users name in this way; the user ID bears the first letter of the users name and the full last name. Please let me know of any software that can help me perform this task. If anyone has been in a similar position please help.

I am currently considering using a certain program to copy shortcuts through Active Directory. This is because I am tired of creating the shortcuts on users’ desktops that are part of a certain security group by going to notes field of the group properties: CSC “desktop”, “clinical”, \servershareshortcut.url, and “folder”. Copying the shortcuts is therefore much simpler than this; however, I am not familiar with the program as I cannot figure out how to do copy these shortcuts. I am aware that the application I am using has a certain icon for this purpose. Please help.

I am working on a procedure to validate Login attempts of our users since the current application we are using requires Active Directory to confirm the user Login and my machine is currently not in the AD server but in a different domain.

I am thinking of creating a CLR procedure on the SQL server found in the same domain. From the application implementation of a procedure from the SQL server which will call the procedure that will contain the CLR function.

It would then pass the user credentials of a particular user trying to Login and check if they are valid. I have already tried this procedure but I am having trouble with the installation of the CLR code.

I am now seeking for your intervention in this matter.

I have a Windows 2000 server that runs on Exchange 2000 and they all have the latest patches and SP’s. All the other services are running normally except for the mail being sent. There is no problem with receiving incoming mail. On checking under the tools in Exchange Systems Manager I found out that my mail server name has a Red X and its status is set to unreachable. I would appreciate if someone helped me out.

I am seeking your suggestions on how to activate automatic replication such that I only get the most recent mail in my inbox, let’s say mail for that particular month only. Those other messages from earlier on should be deleted. Please consider that we are using LN 6.5 in server and running LN 7.0.1 at our clients end. Thanks in advance for your help.

I am in possession of a certain list that contains some data about our customers for example their first, middle and last names, address details and would like to populate this info within a document. The problem is that I am unable to come up with a way to add fields for the additional columns in the lookup column. I am using various data from the list as fields but currently all my efforts are yielding no result. If someone knows how to do this then I would really appreciate.
