I have an ASUS N61Jv, running Windows 7 Professional 64bit (legal, pre-installed).
The built in webcam is suddenly not functioning anymore. I can't recall changing anything, so I'm not sure why this is happening. When opening the cam in skype, windows live messenger, or lifeframe3, it keeps saying that the cam is in use by another application. I've reinstalled the driver, but to no avail. I have also reinstalled the software programs. Could anyone help me out with this? Thanks for any help!

My laptop always heats up immensely when we run a video and suddenly shuts off.We usually let it cool down for a while and then switch it on again.But still the laptop heats up and shuts off within half an hour. It was just purchased one year back.Nowadays this happens frequently.Please provide a solution to fix this.

Hi I am spooky and I use one of the hp intel atom notebooks. There is no cd rom attached to the notebook. To reinstall windows on my notebook I need to use a cd rom but I don’t have a cd rom.so what do I do?

I have a problem with my laptop HP Pavilion dv5-1010us I purchased 3 year ago. This is no longer cover with its warranty so I’m trying to fix it. I played an online game a lot and these lines or bars occur in the middle of the game.

I have to move the monitor before it returns to normal.

My Toshiba Satellite L455D-S5976 Laptop suddenly won't turn on this morning. It was working fine all day yesterday. It was mainly used for my Photoshop and Dreamweaver projects so there's no abuse there. I was playing an online game at lowest setting last night for around 5 hours before turning it off. I always had it plugged in all the time while using it. The Laptop flashes light indicating it was plugged in for one second then turns off. I have no other power adapter to test if it's the problem and I don't have a multi tester either to confirm if the laptop is getting the right amount of power from the adapter.

The warranty is expired as it was bought two years ago.

Things I already did:

My laptop has been behaving unusually. When I startup the laptop when the charger is connected, the icons which are usually in the desktop are not displayed. I have to remove the charger and restart my laptop for the icons to be seen. What could be the cause of this problem?

During startup my laptop Hp compact Presario CQ62 has been displaying an error message “smart hard disk error”. The smart hard disk check usually displays a message during startup that it has detected an imminent failure.

What could be the possible cause of this problem and how can I diagnosis it?

Usually i use a broadband dongle for connect to the internet. but yesterday i have used a cable type ADSL connection to it. but when i connected the cable to my laptop, laptop has been shutdown automatically. after that i have checked my new USB modem, and laptop battery also laptop power adapter there is no problem. what is reason for this if any one know.

I have a vaio c series laptop VGN-CS320; it’s wonderful to look at. Very sleek looking and especially cute.

But my problem is it turns itself off when i'm using it. Literally. Not even go to shut down mode. Sometimes it hasn’t finished booting up.  What should I do?

I'm looking for a laptop to use for work as I am On-Call 24 hours a day and it would be nice if I could just log in from wherever I am instead of attempting to describe things over the phone. I'm looking for a laptop that is not too heavy.

Could I get some help on this one?
