LG's new monitor has brought to light. New device means something extra adding. What is new in it? And what is its specialty?

I knew that Intel's Thin Mini-ITX platform is going to include a monitor inside it. Is not it just like a laptop? If yes, why are they doing it? Is there any extra benefit? If yes, what?

Is this real and when they say 3D do they mean I need glasses or is it an actual object.
