Please guys help me I'm really disappointed because of this problem.

I bought a new laptop its from Lenovo manufacturer and what I can see is the mouse pointer cannot move from the day I bought it as I was not allowed to use the laptop at the shop itself but when I came to home and checked it the mouse pointer doesn't move and hangs every now and then for at least 10 seconds. The problem is I connect my handset to use internet via mobile connected to PC but suddenly my PC says the modem is not found. When I try again to uninstall all the settings and install them again the PC fails to detect the modem. So please guide me how to setup this thing again.
