I want to know some reasons why my AVIRA antivirus scan would skip scanning some files in my PC? I was kinda afraid that those skipped files might have a virus in it already. Thanks

Hey I want your expertise as I am in trouble trying to update free rising antivirus. I get this message “failed to download essential update files, Please try again later.”

Does anyone know why I am getting this error? Does it mean that it’s a free antivirus and it can't be updated?

Norton Antivirus error message: I am receiving an error message which you can see in the below image. I am not able to uninstall and install Norton Antivirus. I need assistance to solve this:

I have recently bought  Apple MacBook Pro Laptop, everything is configured successfully.

Now I want to install antivirus software for Mac OS x, but I can't find any good antivirus software.

Can you guys tell me which antivirus is best for Mac OS?

How will I remove download antivirus extra? I have just installed an Antivirus on my PC, as I scan a list of infections detected and a message pops up saying I need to purchase some program. I reckon it’s all fake Viruses. How will I remove it?

Where can I download Lavasoft Adware freeware anti-virus version 10.5.1? 

I want to try it out since Avast and Norton 360 could not delete some Win32 Trojans and malware. 

Would it be compatible with a Windows 8 Metro OS?

Can SD Fix remove a Win32 Trojan and some malware that Norton 360 and Avast can't remove?  Is there a freeware that I can download to try it first?  I'm on Windows XP 64 bit sp3.  Any ideas?  Thanks in advance.

Just a clarification, I am having problems with McHost.exe, and with NOT McSvHost.exe.

The errors started on January 5, 2012 after an update to McAfee's Antivirus Plus was performed.  Of course, the update necessitates a system restart.

After restarting, McHost.exe started showing me application errors whenever I boot my computer, also whenever the Antivirus Plus summons it.

I made use of Task Manager to end the process tree for McAgent.exe, afterwards I started over the program using the shortcut for McAfee AntiVirus Plus which can be found in Start  > Programs > McAfee. 

After it restarts, it shows me an error for McHost.exe once more. 

I have a 13" MacBook Pro with Intel Dual Core i5 2.5 GHz, 8 GB Memory and OSx Mountain Lion.  My Mac was recently attacked by malware and it looks like it's slowing down the processing ability of my MacBook.  What is the best anti virus for Mac?
