Can someone tell me what is Virtual Desktop Infrastructure or the VDI and how is it differ with Virtual Machine (VM), Server Based Computing (SBC)  and to VMware. What are its most common functions and capabilities? And what does a simple VDI Environment consist of? Thank you for any immediate replies.

What option can I use in order to resolve this? What version of Linux is needed for this? And also, what are the complete system requirements on installing Linux?

I am not sure how to explain this when I was using Linux Mint 2 which name was Bianca I used to attach some picture which it showed while booting and Gnome had boot splash utility which showed what it was loading and when. I have also attached some Pictures of distributions. I wanted to know is it possible with new Linux distributions.

When I booted my PC the icon came which said the script has not run properly and said if you want to delete it. I deleted that and now I am not being able to start the internet and also many other programs. And none of them start up.

I am stuck at 3rd step of the Linux mint 11 installation which is "Allocate Drive Space".

I get the error message "No root file system is defined".

The buttons of adding and changing partitions is disabled.

Please help me out.

I downloaded Linux Mint and then burned it on a DVD and installed refit but the disc can not boot than the linux icon showed up in the middle than screen didint loaded I hold c while PC started it started to work than a black screen came some text came on the screen but the screen went black again. I have 8-core Intel Mac not sure what I am doing wrong can any body advice me about the problem.

I am running Linux mint 10 Gnome When I run Synaptic manager It says not able to install. I could not open lock file /var/lib/dpkg/lock – open ( No such file or directory) Unable to lock the administration directory.

Any solution of this problem.

I have installed Linux Mint 9 Isadora every now and then I get a windows crash the same behavior when we do Ctrl+Alt+backspace.

I have no idea how to fix this problem, this is very disturbing because all my unsaved data is lost after the crash.
