Free IMAP-Based Email Client for Windows

I understand why you want to migrate to other email client with IMAP support. Numerous people are already using Thunderbird and there have been reports of known issues with it. Although, I am also using it for quite so long, I also made a research on some alternatives that will work best for me. So here is a list of the alternatives:

1. Foxmail – This is not connected with Firefox but this is such a good choice due to its features that can be paired or outstrip Thunderbird. Foxmail Version 6.5 Beta 3 supports IMAP protocol and this is very easy to use. It has 8-Million users around the world which made it worthy to give a try. Aside from being a cost-free email client, it supports POP3 and Hotmail accounts, HTML email support, encrypting your mailbox, multiple accounts and a lot more. It has WYSIWYG tool for creating an excellent HTML emails. Foxmail also has the Express Send feature which enables the user to send email to their recipient directly through the built-in SMTP server. And a lot more features that made Foxmail one of the most efficient email client programs and this is a good alternative to Outlook Express. Foxmail comes in Chinese language by default, just go to the installation directory and delete the Chinese.lgb file.

2. Incredimail – This supports IMAP, POP3 and Webmail accounts Such as Gmail, Yahoo, AOL, Hotmail. You can get the basic version for free but eventually, you still need to upgrade to the premium service to use the animations, themes and filter features. Basic animations will pop ups on receiving new emails or when deleting an email message. It can handle your basic accounts with easy configurations.

3. eM Client – This is a known client for both Windows XP and Windows 7. It supports major webmails, POP3 and IMAP. You have a 30-day free trial after installation but they also have a free license which restricts the user to use 2 email addresses only. This is a great alternative to MS Outlook and Thunderbird. You can synchronize your Gmail, Outlook, Hotmail and more easily. You can manage your your emails, events, contacts and tasks, and you can also use this to chat with your Facebook and Google friends.

4. Gmail – This is becoming more popular now than any other services. It supports POP and IMAP. You can manage your emails and put it on a folder by using the "Label" feature. You can easily add and modify contacts and tasks. The bright side of it is when you use this service, you can also use other Google products all at the same time. If you are in Google+, you can chat from your Gmail window and see your circles in an instant. This is a free service but there are ads that appears on top of your inbox. You have a 10GB space for free but it can be expandable by paying the Google monthly payment plan with up to 16TB of size.

5. Skycap Mail – This is an email client that is built especially for Windows 8 users. It has POP3 and IMAP support and an easy configurations for most of the well-known hosted email services like Hotmail, Yahoo, AOL or Gmail. However, this service is not free. The setup is very easy and fast it automatically synchronizes your emails in the background. You will be notified when there is a new email and it has a live updates for your unread messages. This is a really good application and probably one of the best alternative for your Thunderbird. 

6. Opera Mail – This supports both POP and IMAP, newsgroups, RSS and feeds. It has spam security protection and very simple to use. It uses a single database for keeping all your mails and then sort your messages automatically. It also has a contact manager and IRC Client which can let the user to connect to multiple servers.
