My HTC Passion’s touch screen function is dysfunctional;

My HTC Passion’s touch screen function is dysfunctional; this is what happens when I open my phone’s system. However, when I restart it from hibernate mode, the issue is resolved. Can you please help me identify what the problem is? I’m not sure if it is my operating system but I am just using the default android system, or is it a factory defect and I should demand that the manufacturer replace it with a working unit?

That could be a temporary problem that can go away after you restart your computer, and therefore I will suggest that you try that. If you made any software changes then that they could be having an effect that is causing the operating system to behave that way, and therefore I will suggest that you do the following:

• You will need to restore the system to a time when the problem had not started occurring yet and see if that will fix the problem. System restore will remove any software changes that you might have made that are responsible for causing that problem.
• In case you suspect any application that you installed to might be related to the problem, then just go to the control panel and remove it.
