The error message troubles me a lot with repeated entries in event log.
What is the problem with my Windows Vista that has 4 Gb ram and pretty good config system?
The Collect Procedure for the "EmdCache" service in DLL "C:Windowssystem32emdmgmt.dll" generated an exception or returned an invalid status. The performance data returned by the counter DLL will not be returned in the Perf Data Block.
The first four bytes (DWORD) of the Data section contains the exception code or status code.

It can result due to a corrupted iso image. To solve this you need to be patient.

Restore the computer to an earlier date and run the windows in safe mode

Uninstall any recent installed software or driver ,download a fresh copy of it and then re-install it again

Sometimes the windows installer also gets corrupted. Upgrading the installer could also solve the issue.

Running CHKDSK utility to fix file and registry errors also helps and saves time to recover windows ,before other programs also start failing which usually happens due to corrupt file allocation tables.

If you learned about the error from the event log of Microsoft Windows, you shouldn’t worry about it. The log files you see in the Windows event log are system generated. It has nothing to do with how you use your computer. Those log messages were created by Microsoft Windows itself as it operates the computer and run the system.
Everything that happens on the system like programs that start, starting and stopping of services, and others, are recorded in the Windows event log. The moment the Microsoft Windows operating system starts until you shut down the computer, all are recorded in the Windows event log. The Windows event log is a record or documentation of a computer’s notifications and alerts.
An event, according to Microsoft, is “any significant occurrence in the system or in a program that requires users to be notified or an entry added to a log”. Microsoft Windows classifies events according to type. Like for example, an “information event” describes the successful completion of a task like installing an application.
A “warning event” alerts the administrator of a possible problem like a low disk space, for example. An “error message” describes an important problem that may result in loss of functionality. A “success audit event” specifies the completion or conclusion of an audited security event like when an end user successfully logs on.
A “failure audit event” describes an audited security event that did not finish successfully like when an end user ended up locking himself out after entering incorrect passwords. Every event in a log entry has the following information:
- Date – the date the event happened.
- Time – the time the event happened.
- User – the user account or username of the person who was logged on when the event happened.
- Computer – the name of the computer.
- Event ID – a Windows identification number that indicates the type of event.
- Source – the component or program that caused the event.
- Type – the type of event (information, warning, error, security success audit, or security failure audit).
