SMplayer configuration Intel GMA495 on Linux Mint 13

I have a Linux Mint 13 laptop with Intel GMA 495 on it and I experience difficulties with playback of HD videos.

If I use Windows on the same machine, everything works fine. I have the most recent version of graphic drivers and X.org.

Are there any hints for tuning SMplayer for better performance?

SMplayer configuration Intel GMA495 on Linux Mint 13

Hello,

Linux had some difficulties with Intel graphics cards, but recently that problem was fixed, so you need to update the drivers for your graphics card and update SMPlayer itself. 

Also you can use vlc, which is in the main Linux Mint repository. 

To install it, open Terminal and type:  “sudo apt-get install vlc”, then type your password and press ENTER.
