Maximum Size Limit of Signature in Exchange 2010

I am trying to migrate from Exchange 2003 to Exchange 2010. When I am about to complete the migration, and create signatures in OWA, I am receiving error: The text you typed is too long. Please shorten it and try to save it again. As far as I know, this is another issue of fixing registry in Exchange 2003 wherein we can set the maximum size limit for the signatures, but I could not locate the same settings in Exchange 2010. How can I fix this? Where can I find the settings for this? Thank you.

Maximum Size Limit of Signature in Exchange 2010

Setting the maximum size limit to signatures is applicable on Exchange 2003 wherein you can edit the registry. But this method won’t work with the Exchange 2010. As the default SignatureMaxLength value in Exchange Server 2003 is 4096 bytes or 4KB and the maximum value is 16672 bytes or 16KB.

While in Exchange 2010, the maximum signature size is 8192 bytes or 8KB. In Exchange 2010, the signature size cannot be changed.

The 8KB includes the html and the text part therefore you need to weigh-in the factor of the HTML formatting. If the created signature is not this large or else can be edited using other computer, the issue could be your browser.

However, if the created signature is too large, you will need to use transport rules or a third party service/utility to add a disclaimer on outgoing messages.

Maximum Size Limit of Signature in Exchange 2010

This feature is restricted in exchange server 2010. In the older versions you can up the size to 16 Kb for a digital signature. However, in case of exchange server 2010 the size is limited to 8Kb only. It is hence not possible to increase the size limit from 8kb to 16 kb. The maximum size limit is only 8Kb.
