How can I repair codec error 109 in VLC player?

Hi expert,

I need your help. I am facing problems with my vlc player. Whenever I try to play any avi file, it shows a message “error 109”.

How can I repair codec error 109?

Please, tell me in detail as I can solve the problem.

Please, narrate everything as easily as possible as I am a beginner.

How can I repair codec error 109 in VLC player?

Hi Alyss Aellaa,

This error tells that your VLC media player's runtime file has been crashed.

Due to this error, you are unable to play any video files in this situation.

You have two options now to recover from this problem.

1. Reinstall your VLC media player. First remove your old version of VLC media player that you have installed. After that reinstall the VLC media player again. It will replace the crashed files easily.

2. One more option is to reinstall CODEC pack. Go to this link and download the best codec pack.

This codec pack has all VLC supported files.
