Looking for advanced video viewer

Hi guys.  I'm looking for an advanced video viewer that can play different video files, play broken avi files and has a command line control.  Hoping it would also stream videos without embedding Flash files.  I'm on Windows 8 Metro.  Thanks.

It supports dozens of file formats and is also available in different formats. Best of all: it's free! You can download the VLC Media Player from the VideoLAN site. As you referred to streaming as well, you will find the website very useful, which also contains DvBlast.

Hello Janet,

The best Media player i know is VLCmedia player. It plays any type of video and audio files. Either you want to play a dvd file or avi file, it plays all for you. This is one of the best and most popular media player among different media players.
