Backup Media Cannot be Seen in Windows Explorer

I cannot see my Flash Drive in the Windows Explorer. Either the media is not detected or some script is making it disappear in the Explorer. I have tried unplugging it but still it can't be detected. Is there a virus of some sort in my USB flash drive?

If your USB flash drive is really working fine, it is impossible for Windows not to detect it. Even if a flash drive is infected with any type of virus, Windows is still able to detect it. There are generic flash drives that can easily wear out in a short period of time. They are those types that have the lowest price in the market.

If all of the USB ports available in your CPU do not detect your flash drive, use a different working flash drive and attach it to the USB port to test which of the ports are working and which are not. After checking the ports, connect your flash drive again. If the other flash drive is detected in all of the ports and your flash drive is not, then your flash drive is already broken.

Further testing is not necessary.

This is impossible for Windows not to detect you USB drive, whether it is working or not. But still you have this problem, then what you have to do?

Just insert your USB in another computer port and check whether Windows detects your USB or not.  If yes, then check that port through which you are trying to connect your USB if it is working or not. To test your port, insert another USB, mouse or keyboard and check its status if it is working.

If it is working, then fine.  If not, then you may be having a problem in your port.  Try to connect from another port. If the port is working fine, then you have a problem with your USB and it can't be a virus because virus is detectable and can not make your hardware out of order.
