Computer is playing media but no sound is heard.

After formatting my PC, the sound system seems to have corrupted or something like that. Media files are playing ok but no sound is heard. I have changed the speakers but still no solution. I have confirmed that the speakers are not muted.

Computer is playing media but no sound is heard.

There can be several reasons for this. Solution for different reasons is described as:

Very first and main reason can be this that your sound card driver is not working well. It should be an outdated driver or there are some files missing. Try to download the latest driver via web and install it. Hope this will solve your problem. You can do this in the device manager.

Make sure that you have inserted your speaker pin in the right socket. You should insert your speaker pin into green colored socket. For more have a look at the image.

If not all these then make sure that you are using this sound card as a default device. To check this right click on the speaker icon placed near the clock in the taskbar and select playback devices. Now chose this sound card as a default device and it’s done.

Hello good day!

You have said that you are formatting your PC. One of the most sensitive part when you are formatting a particular PC is the hardware. basically one of the useful hardware which computer has is the audio which is extended through any devices such as speakers, headphones and etc. In your case the sound system has been corrupted and you need to install again an audio driver so that after assembling the speakers it will then work.
