Louis,
There are two possible options:

1. If you have never formatted your hard drive before, the recovery partition installed at factory can be used. Turn the laptop off and then restart it.

2.  Press F9 key during boot up. On the menu, press enter key on the option Windows setup

3. Choose the language English, click on next

4. An Asus message comes up, click on next

5. Three options of partitions come up. Choose "Recover windows to entires HD", all your data and info will be erased. Click next

6. Just follow all the instructions to finish the process.

If you don't have the factory recovery partition, because you replaced the HDD or formatted the HDD in the past, you will have to make a recovery DVD (this is available just in some models) or if you have the recovery disk from factory in the package received when you purchased the laptop, use the recovery disk to perform the reset.

1. Boot from your recovery DVD/CD pressing ESC when you see the ASUS logo and choosing "CD/DVD" press enter on it.

2. The laptop will boot from the recovery disk , just follow the instructions to finish the complete process.

Hope this helps

Riley
