Router problem due to dropping access to internet

Hi there,

It seems that you're having problem with loading some internet page using your Verizon modem/router.  I presume you are connected wired with the modem/router when you’re having this issue. Since you updated the firmware, please do a 30-30-30 sec rule reset of the modem/router. This basically the things needed after doing a firmware update. Follow these steps to perform a modem/router hard reset:

1. When the unit is powered on, hold down its reset button for 30 seconds. Use a paperclip or push pin to hold the reset button.

2. While still holding down the reset button, unplug the router from power and hold for an additional 30 seconds

3. Still holding down the reset button, turn on power to the router again and hold for 30 more seconds

Your router should be restored to its factory default settings after the 90 sec reset.

Note: (make sure that you know all settings and how to reconfigure your router after the reset because this will bring back the default settings of it.)

Next, you need to turn off the device for 5 minutes for it to cool down after the reset. Try to reconfigure the device and see if the problem still exists.

If it still exists, try resetting your browser settings.  To do this, you have to close all your internet browsers (if it is running). Please do the following steps;

1.    If you use Windows XP, click Start, and then click Run.  Type this command on the Open box, inetcpl.cpl and then press ENTER:

If you use Windows Vista, click Start. Type inetcpl.cpl in the Start Search box, and then press ENTER:

 The Internet Options dialog box appears.

2.       Look for Advanced tab.

3.       Under Reset Internet Explorer settings, click Reset. Then click Reset again.

4.       When Internet Explorer finishes resetting the settings, click Close.

5.       Start Internet Explorer again.

Check whether the problem is fixed.  If it’s not, try to manually add a static DNS address on your computer. For the Primary DNS use 4.2.2.1 and 4.2.2.2 for the secondary DNS. These global DNS addresses will help your computer find the websites you wanted to visit.

If it’s not, you now need to call your internet service provider to check if it is your connection problem or your modem/router problem.
