Data connectivity problem in Droid4

In my Droid 4, after occurrence of  'data connectivity lost', the data connectivity icon disappeared from the notification bar though the phone and data connectivity both are still active. What could be the problem? Any suggestions?

Data connectivity problem in Droid4

Maybe your phone encountered an internal problem from its system after the “data connectivity lost” happens. Try restarting your phone and see what happens. Maybe by rebooting your phone’s system it will restore the icon back on your screen whenever you try connecting your phone again.

But if rebooting your phone didn’t help, try turning off your phone then open its back cover and then remove its battery for about a couple of minutes. This procedure will drain your phone from all the charges that came from the battery. Install the battery back and then start the phone again and then check if this fixes the icon.
