Problem reinstalling Windows XP Professional

Hi,

I was using Windows XP Professional. Yesterday I reinstalled Windows XP Professional. But I didn’t format my hard disk. Now the problem is when I finished reinstalling the program, all the program shortcuts of my computer just vanished from the start menu.

Moreover, add or remove program contained nothing.

Please help me.

Problem reinstalling Windows XP Professional

Always remember when you reinstalled windows XP professional need to format hard disk its a proper way of reinstalling. For the important document you can use a backup system like a external hard disk.

Now, you can solve this problem by following this way at first restart your PC and reinstalling all your software  from your given disk like Intel Express Installer drives and bonus Application software CD by using CD/DVD ROM then:

Go to Start menu>Press Control panel>Press Add or remove program and press  add to your needed software to install and this way you can solve your problem or you can use a file recovery software CD.

Problem reinstalling Windows XP Professional

The first thing you should do is to stop using the hard disk as this could lead to loss of data or you can overwrite the hard disk. To recover the data you need to use the FAT recovery or NTFS recovery using the Disk Doctors Windows Data Recovery software. This software helps you to recover data in case of deleting or reinstalling your software.

Problem reinstalling Windows XP Professional

Hi,

The problem is clearly caused by the reinstallation of the windows,reinstalling windows damage the registry files installed in c:/program files/windows/system32.

Don't worry about your programs I'll give you two solutions :

Solution 1:

a) Open c:/program files/ your software folder

b) Open the uninstall file

c) In the uninstall parameter choose reinstall

Solution 2:

When you reinstall windows the files in c:/windows folder will be modified but the files of c:/program files will not be modified and as we all know the programs default installation folder is c:/program files

The solution do is to open c:/program files you will found everything there.

But sometimes some software need to copy few files in the windows directory that was been modified so the program will be damaged if it is the case follow the steps of the Solution 1.
