I wanted to know more about this software called "Cygwin" and would appreciate if you can give me a brief detail of what it can do and what are its uses. Can you also give me some online resources where I can read more about it? Thank you.

• Cygwin is a Command line interface and UNIX like environment for Microsoft Windows.
• Cygwin provides native integration of windows based application, data and other system resources with applications, software tools, and data of the UNIX like environment.
• Thus, it is also possible to launch windows application from Cygwin environment and also you can use Cygwin application and tools on windows context.
• Cygwin mainly consist of two part a dynamic link library (DLL) and API compatibility layer responsible to provide API functionality and extensive collection of software tools and application that provide looks and feel like of UNIX.
