10 inch notebooks or netbooks have limited screen resolution and consequently, there are programs or sites that are altered or restricted due to this screen resolution limitation. is there a way to increase the screen resolution of these notebooks or netbooks?

Way to increase screen resolution of a 10-inch notebook

Dear Gmlaud,

This is most probably just the video driver problem, so you need to download the video driver.

Here is how you can solve your problem of the 10 inch notebook or netbook that have limited screen resolution:

1. Find out the brand and model of the laptop.

2. Find out the operating system you are running the laptop on.

3. Google search the driver using the brand, model and operating system you are running on.

4. Locate a web site for downloading the file.

5. Download the driver and install it.

6. Restart the computer and go to Screen Resolution option by right clicking on the desktop and increase the resolution.

Way to increase screen resolution of a 10-inch notebook

Here's a registry tweak for getting higher resolutions (from the typical 1024 x 600) on netbooks.  This only works if you are running Windows 7 on said netbook.

Here’s the procedure:

1) Press Windows logo key + R and type in "regedit" in the Run box.  Once inside the registry editor, click on “Computer” from key tree.
2) Search for “Display1_DownScalingSupported” and modify all from “0″ to “1″
3) Restart your netbook.
4) When you open the display properties you will now have 2 additional resolutions: 1024×768 and 1152×864

Be aware though that these registry tweaks might not work on some netbooks.  Some instability might also be expected when switching to the new resolutions.
